Tribute to Mary Keehan
Mary has been attending the St. Patrick’s Day parade since she was a little girl. Her uncle, Patrick Miniter , who was the chair of the Clairmens Association, always sent Mary’s mom tickets to the grandstand.
Her father was from Roscommon and she said it was inbred in her to be proud to be Irish.
Mary’s favorite memory is the high stepping women who marched in front of the bands and freezing to death in skirts on those metal seats.
Her son is with the Rockland county AOH and he has been a bagpiper and has had the honor of carrying the banner.
Mary is a member of the American Irish Association of Westchester and the LAOH of Tarrytown
