Orange County Aide to the Grand Marshal
Kevin Dooner traces his Irish roots to Counties Leitrim and Dublin. He is one of three children born to Thomas and Margaret Dooner in the Bronx, NY. Kevin owes his Catholic upbringing to the parents, Lillian (Shea) and John Francis Adams, who raised him from a year and a half. It is to them he owes so much. Kevin was educated at St. Joseph’s Elementary School and John S. Burke Catholic High School and attended college at Orange County Community College and on to SUNY at Oneonta. He has a teaching degree in the Social Sciences, a Master’s degree in Education and an Advanced Degree in Education Administration. Kevin’s’ first administrative position was with Orange/Ulster BOCES Adult & Continuing Education. He completed sixteen years as an education supervisor at the CACS for BOCES in Southern Westchester and has taught for seventeen years for the NYS Division for Youth and Department of Correctional Services. Kevin is a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division Four in Middletown for twenty two years and is the Division’s President. Kevin was selected Aide to the Grand Marshal in the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade and is the Sentinel on the AOH Orange County Board. Kevin Dooner enjoys playing the Irish piano accordion and serves as a lecturer and Eucharistic Minister in the Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Middletown. Kevin is married happily for thirty eight years to Mary Patricia Kehoe.
