Westchester County Aide: Aidan W. O’Kelly-Lynch
Aidan was born in Cork City, Ireland and is the eldest of five children born to Frank and Josephine O’Kelly-Lynch. His father, Frank, is from Clarecastle, Co. Clare, and his mother Josephine Bennett is from Montenotte in Cork City. Aidan was educated at the Christian Brother’s College in Cork and attended University College Cork where he graduated in 1976 with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, Aidan worked in London and Scotland for McDermott Engineering, designing Offshore
Structures for use in the North Sea. In 1979, he returned to Cork and worked for E.G. Pettit Consulting Engineers in Cork City. In 1984, Aidan was employed by FEI, an American Company with plants in Athy in Co. Kildare & Bagnalstown in Co. Carlow. FEI manufactured granite-faced cladding panels for buildings and Aidan oversaw the manufacturing of panels for the “World Financial Center”, and 7 th World Trade
Center in N.Y.C. In 1986, Aidan transferred to FEI’s head office in New York as Chief Engineer. In 1991, Aidan joined A.J. McNulty & Co, in Queens and has managed the construction of many large scale precast concrete and steel buildings throughout the Tristate Area, the most notable being the Four Seasons Hotel at 30 Park Place.
Aidan is a member of Division 18 of the A.O.H. in Peekskill and currently serves as the New York State A.O.H. District 4 Director. Aidan served as President of Division 18 & Westchester County Board and was honored a “Hibernian of the Year” by the County and his Division in 2013 and 2014. Aidan is a member of the Co. Cork B.P. & P Association and an active member of the Hudson Valley Irish Festival where has served as Chairman, Recording Secretary, and Trustee. Aidan resides in Buchanan, NY and is married to Valerie Dennehy from Limerick.
