Nassau County Aide: Maureen T. Caffrey
Maureen T. Caffrey was born in Queens Village, NY and is one of six children born to John and Alice (Shanahan) Caffrey. Maureen attended St. Rose of Lima Grammar School, St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School and S.U.N.Y. Plattsburgh. Maureen has worked at the law firm Ropes and Gray LLP (Fish and Neave LLP) for the past 34 years and is currently the Litigation Docketing Administrator.
Maureen is an original member of the Tara Pipes and Drums Band which was founded in 1976 in Massapequa Park. Maureen was Pipe Major of the Tara Pipes and Drums band for 17 years and this year will mark the 40th Anniversary of the Tara Pipes and Drums participation in the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
In 1987, Maureen joined L.A.O.H. Division 15 in Massapequa Park and has served as their President. She has been a member of the L.A.O.H. Nassau County Board for the past 12 years and is currently the County Board Secretary.
Maureen has been honored as the Woman of the Year by L.A.O.H. Nassau County, Woman of the Year by L.A.O.H. Division 15, and Band Member of the Year by the Tara Pipes and Drums. Since 2001, she has served as the Piping Coordinator for the Nassau County A.O.H. Feis and Irish Festival. Maureen is a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals of Massapequa Park for the past 15 years.
