John F. Timony – Bronx County Aide

John F Timoney was born in Yonkers New York in 1964. His father was a NYC bus driver and his mother a nurse. He is the second oldest of six children. He first went to Saint Denis Catholic School in Yonkers. When John was ten years old his mother died from breast cancer. His father brought his mother home to Donegal to bury her. While there, his father built a house outside of Donegal town. In 1978 John moved from New York to Donegal and in 1979 his brother and sisters also moved to Donegal. In 1980, his father was lucky enough to find a new wife to take on the rearing of six children, and they were blessed with two more children.
In 1985, John returned to New York and found work as a carpenter, joining the Local 608 Carpenter’s Union. In 1995 he and his cousin Rory opened a bar on East Tremont Avenue in the Bronx. They owned it for seven years. It was there that John met his lovely wife Emer. They are blessed with three children, Marcella, Ryan, and Alannah. Marcella will be graduating Preston High School this spring. Ryan and Alannah are very involved in Saint Raymond’s Gaelic Football Club.
For well over 15 years, John has been a loyal and dedicated member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He has also served as president of the Bronx AOH Division #4 for five years.
John is employed as a construction superintendent with JC Elite Construction in New York
