Eileen Mulcahy (nee Jordan) was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island. A proud fourth, generation Irish American. Eileen is one of seven children, five boys and two girls. She traces her families roots to Co. Limerick through her father, Gerard Jordan, and to Cahersiveen, Co Kerry, through her mother, Eileen Murphy. Those ancestral ties have remained a meaningful part of her life and identity.
Eileen holds a bachelor’s degree from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. For more than two decades, she has served the Archdiocese with distinction. In 2021, she was appointed Vice Chancellor, a role in which she plays a vital part in both the financial and pastoral strategic planning of the Archdiocese. Known for her steady leadership and discernment, she has been particularly relied upon during times of significant transition and restructuring. Her work reflects an unwavering commitment to her Catholic faith and a deep sense of integrity, compassion, and service.
Eileen and husband Rory Mulcahy a native of Co. Cork, reside in Bronxville New York and are longtime parishioners of St. Joseph’s. There they raised their two children, Megan and Rory. Rory is married to Elizabeth.
The Mulcahy family has long nurtured their deep love of Ireland, returning often – especially during cherished summers spent in Waterville, County Kerry. Together, they are proud supporters of numerous Irish charitable causes and cultural organizations, reflecting their dedication to heritage, faith, and community.
