John was born in New York City to Cornelius (Co. Cork) and Anne (Co. Longford) Doolan. He and his brother, Kevin, were raised in Bethpage, NY. John attended St. Dominic High School in Oyster Bay, NY, and went on to study at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY.
John worked for MCI Telecommunications with John Sharkey, a past Knights of St. Patrick Aide. He then became Area Manager of Diageo Guinness USA. Later, John worked at Heineken USA in various roles, including Zone Director, Vice President of the Northeastern Region and Vice President of Sales Operations. John is involved in many organizations, among them the Knights of St. Patrick; a member of the Gaelic-American Club in Fairfield, CT; a mentor at Shepherds of Connecticut; a member of Ireland-U.S. Council, and association with Women’s Leadership Forum with Heineken USA. John will literally follow in his father’s footsteps on March 17th … marching the same Avenue his father Connie did as Grand Marshal of the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 1992. John has been married to his wife Mary, nee Gallivan for 27 years. They currently reside in Fairfield, CT with their two daughters Cate and Elizabeth
