Kieran McGirl ‘s father hails from Emyvale County Monaghan, Ireland and his mother traces her roots to Galway and Derry. Kieran is a graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School and attended Sacred Heart University, in Bridgeport, Connecticut where Kieran
currently serves on the Young Alumni Council. Kieran is an accomplished producer with ABC News’ 20/20, and his work in journalism and storytelling has earned him prestigious accolades, including multiple Emmy Awards, an Edward R. Murrow Award Honors, the DuPont-Columbia
Award, and the NAACP Image Award. Kieran is a member of the Irish American Building Society’s Great Irish Fair Committee, and as such he played a critical role in saving the fair during the COVID-19 pandemic by producing a live virtual event. Kieran has been recognized by the Irish Echo for Outstanding
Community Leadership as well as the top 40 under 40 outstanding Irish Americans. Kieran McGirl is President of Division 19, John O’Hagan Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Brooklyn, New York. Grandfather Al O’Hagan, was the Grand Marshal in 1986, his Great-Great Grandfather John O’Hagan, was the Grand Marshal 1929, and his Great Grandfather Alfred J. O’Hagan marched in 1967 as an Aide to the Grand Marshal. In 2021, Kieran began working with the parade team as a part of the Media team,
producing recap videos of parade events throughout the year. Kieran and his wife, Erin, share a love for Brooklyn, summers in Breezy Point, NY, and their puppy, Guinness.
