New York County Aide to the Grand Marshal

Tom Beirne was born in Manhattan, the second of four children to Francis Beirne, former Parade chairman from Cornamuckla, Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, and Mary (nee Cody) from Thomastown, County Kilkenny. Tom attended St. Barnabas & St. Paul the Apostle Grammar Schools, Mount Saint Michael Academy, and Manhattan College, earning a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering. Tom has more than 30 years of experience supervising large complex municipal and private construction projects and is currently employed by JT Magen & Company, Inc. Tom has worked on behalf of many charitable causes, chairing many dances, and benefits. He was Chairman of the 175th Anniversary of the A.O.H. in America in 2011; the 100th Anniversary Commemoration of the 1916 Easter Rising in 2016 in NYC; and the Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral for Martin McGuinness, the former Deputy First Minister for Northern Ireland in 2017. Tom helped coordinate volunteers for the Papal Mass in Madison Square Garden during Pope Francis’s visit to New York in 2015 and volunteer’s time with the Boys Scouts. Tom follows in the footsteps of his father (1968) and brother Frank (2011) as an Aide to the Grand Marshal. Tom Beirne is a 36-year member of the A.O.H., has been an officer at all levels, and is currently the New York State A.O.H. Treasurer. Tom is active in other organizations including the New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade for the past four and half decades and the Eastchester, NY St. Patrick’s Parade.

Tom is married to Virginia (nee Burkart) and they are the proud parents of Sean, Margaret, and Audrey. They are parishioners of Immaculate Conception in Mount Vernon, NY.
