Richard O’Neill – Nassau County Aide

Richard O’Neill is the second of four children born to John and Veronica (Foley) O’Neill and traces his Irish roots to Counties Sligo, Armagh and Clare. Richard worked in the oil industry for 35 years, is a member of Teamster Local 553 and currently works in construction repairing and elevating homes in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Richard resides in Levittown where he grew up and served as an altar boy at St. Bernard’s Church. He has volunteered for decades in many food drives and after Superstorm Sandy, he volunteered in the clean-up efforts in Breezy Point with the AOH. Richard helped the Levittown Soccer Club construct fields out of an unused storm basin and helps in maintaining the fields. Richard helps to raise money for the D’Brickashaw Ferguson Foundation an organization that helps to improve the quality of life for students. Working with the D’Brickashaw Ferguson Foundation is very important to Richard and it is an organization that is near and dear to his heart.
Richard is an active member of the Msgr. McLaughlin AOH Division 7 and is currently serving his fourth term as President. In addition, he has served the Nassau County Board for eight years as Sentinel, Marshal and Treasurer. Richard has been active for many years on the Nassau County Feis Committee. Richard has been happily married to Colleen for 33 years and they are the proud parents of two children, Jennifer and Sean.
