Suffolk County Aide to the Grand Marshal

Stephen Denis Lemanski was born in the Bronx to a first-generation Irish mother, Julia O’Meara, and a Polish-American father, Ted Lemanski. Stephen’s maternal grandfather, Denis O’Meara, emigrated from Cloughjordan, Co. Tipperary in 1917. Stephen attended St. Anthony of Padua Grammar School in the South Bronx, Holy Family High School in Huntington, NY, and graduated from Manhattan College in the Bronx in 1976 where he served as president of the Gaelic Society. Steve has been a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Michael Collins Division 11 in Hampton Bays for eleven years, and currently is the president of the Division. Stephen is a member of the Hampton Bays Hibernians St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee and currently serves as its vice-president. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and past president of “Our Lady of the Hamptons” School Board. Stephen is a CYO basketball coach, a Little League baseball and softball coach, and a Cub Scout leader. Steve was voted “Man of the Year” in 2011 by the A.O.H. Hampton Bays, and Grand Marshal of the 2019 Hampton Bays St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Steve is married to the former Elizabeth Reilly, and they are the proud parents of five, Michael, Caitlin, Anna, Denis, and Jack, and the even prouder grandparents of eight grandchildren.
